Hee Haw Farm

David went on a field trip with his preschool last week to a local farm. I tagged along with the wee ones. Hee Haw farms is set up to specifically as a field trip destination with small children in mind. It had play ground equipment, a petting farm, a corn box to play in and a tractor hitched up to a hay wagon to give rides on. The hay wagon was the highlight of the trip. I don't think David or Mac heard a word of the 10 minute lesson on cows and where milk comes from but they enjoyed the free cheese stick given out at the end. Fun memories. Gabe is always sad he misses outings like this because he is in school.

I can just hear Ruthie: Really mom? You put me down in this
stuff  just so you could take a picture with two hands?

I always find it funny to take pictures of my kids with other kids

Where's waldo?

Where's Ruth Anne?

There she is!

She is such a happy baby. Getting her in the  morning is like unwrapping a present- Every. Day.

Tanner, Zach's BYU nephew, stayed with us this past weekend for one last hurrah before flying home for the summer. It will be quite some time before we see him again since he is leaving on his mission to Brazil in August and will be gone for two years preaching the gospel. He's been a good babysitter, excellent hoover vacuum at the dinner table, and great friend to have around. Good bye and Good luck Tanner. See you in a few years. It's been a blast.

Wake up Cousin Tanner!! It's time for breakfast

When Dad helps

Zach dressed our two year old the other day to help me out. This is what Mac came out wearing. I didn't notice it at first but when I did I burst out laughing. The bottoms are Ruth Anne's pants, not Mac's shorts. Zach says to me, "I thought they were a little snug." Usually he does a pretty good job getting our children ready but this day was a do-over.

Ruthie Ride

"It happens before you know it, the fingerprints on the wall get higher and higher and then... they're gone."

My three boys have a LOT of energy and are full of ideas of how to have 'fun'. Its been a challenge lately to guide their choices to good ones. I know it's just the little kid in them and sometimes have to remind myself to enjoy it rather than discourage it. Here is David giving one of his Ruthie rides. She looks a little stressed, but really she's okay. Of all my boys, he dotes on her the most. I'm sure she will really enjoy this in a few months.

Disgruntled

I told Mac before the Easter egg hunt that the candy goes in the bucket.
He was a little disgruntled to find out I was playing a trick on him, and that, in fact,
there was no candy in the bucket.

It's okay, all was forgiven after we led him outside to hunt for candy.

BABY BUCKET

I don't usually just get to go take pictures of Ruthie-rosie-cheeks here, just me and her, but I had a "day off" on Tuesday. The boys all went down to Goblin valley with my father. It was quite a treat with the little lady here. We did laundry, took pictures, picked up rooms that didn't get immediately messed up again, watched a movie and went for a walk in the sun shine. She was a  little angel in the movie theater and for most of the day. Heck, every day. Can I schedule another holiday soon please?

Home Depot Day

On the first Saturday of every month you can take your kids down to Home Depot for a little DIY wooden project and its FREE! We love it. Zach has been taking the kids now pretty regularly for the past two years. I like to stop in too on occasion and make it a family outing. Here's a few shots from the latest trip.  Don't ask me where three wooden projects a month usually end up, you can't make me tell.
The creation is complete- a wooden bird feeder. The boy is still under construction

The reason Mac likes Home Depot so much- the tractors

Tea for Ten

Cousin Haley had her 5th birthday a few weeks ago and invited the boys to attend her fancy dress "tea party". The fake tea (sherbet punch) was a big hit, as was playing outside on a beautiful day.
Happy birthday Haley

Cheers!
