Lincoln turns 5

Lincoln is FIVE! Where did the time go. I was 5 months pregnant with him when we moved here to Colorado and now look at him. He is still made of butter and sunshine. Lincoln can write his name, read phonetically, color in the lines, zoom around the playground, build medium sized legos like a boss, and has recently begun to add single digit numbers. Ruth actually taught him to add and now we practice on the iPad or with flash cards. He is a joy in our life. His birthday was the day after Thanksgiving this year, last year it fell right on thanksgiving. I am Thankful for Lincoln and for Zach's sister Amyjo who through him a party complete with Star Wars cake and hamburgers. Kindergarten here he comes.

Lincoln's preschool class gets to rotate who takes home Travis the Turtle each weekend. Between the AM and PM classes, each child gets at least one weekend per school year. Lincoln lucked out and got a 4 day weekend to keep Travis. Travis comes complete with backpack, sleeping bag, pajamas, removable shell, clothing , and some camping gear. With a little bit of negotiating, Alara got to share in the fun as well.

Lincoln's Black Eye

When David and Gabe were pushing each other on the indoor swing, Lincoln thought it would be a good idea to try and crawl under the swing. It turns out that it was actually a bad idea. David brought Lincoln up to me bleeding from a cut over his eye. No stitches or permanent damage, thank goodness. His eye was actually worse the next day and completely swollen shut for about five days. 17 days later and it is almost completely gone. Kids are troopers, an hour after it happened he was back to his cheery self. Thank goodness for a slight recess of the eye socket to take the brunt trauma instead of the eye itself or we would all be walking around blind.

Mac 9 yr

Happy 9th birthday to my spunky little guy. For his birthday trip he wanted to go to the Denver aquarium with his friend Jacob Long. We ditched school and went down for the day. He's still a super reader, loves to play with Legos, chat with friends, play piano songs quickly, lean back in his chair, leave chores half done, give the baby hugs, get A's on everything, and laugh whenever possible. We wouldn't trade him for the world. Love you Mac!

This is a Pokemon ball but instead of a cake he asked for an iced rice crispy which was actually easier to make.

Baby 5 months

Rockwell still doesn't quite sit up on his own but he loves to scoot around the house via army crawl. It won't be long till he is actually crawling. Alara is a great friend to Rockwell while I am doing chores.
