Look Mom! Two wheels

I finally took Mac's training wheels off and he was riding like a pro in less than ten minutes. I guess I should have taken them off earlier. A few times up and down the cul-de-sac with me trotting behind and he had that two wheel thing down. His brothers were very excited to give him some of their best bike tips. Go Mac Go!

Rock'n and Roll'n

7 1/2 months, 19 lb, 27 inches
Look out world, here he comes. Lincoln has been rolling around for a while now and scooting plow fashion across the carpet without lifting his head, but just this week he has started to push up and rock back and forth. He's even taken a crack at actual crawling, trying to coordinate his arms with the opposite leg. Cubbby Lubby is no speed demon yet but it's so cute to watch him learn.

This is my cherub

The summer of the Chore Chart

Now that summer is more than half way over (8 weeks out, 6 to go) I thought I'd give a progress report. Before the boys got out of school I decided that this was going to be a productive summer as well as fun. Hence the chore chart. One dish chore, one other chore, bed making, learning time, and for the older two music. Payment for said chores is $.50 a day paid on Saturdays. It takes us till about 10:00 am to finish all of this with me floating among the three boys and the two little ones. Zach also helps until he goes down to work. Overall I would say this experiment has been a success but in case you don't have kids or forget what it's like, me tell you what, getting kids to do chores is a chore! Even when they are as good as these boys.

My weighted squat

Before I invested in some secondhand free weights this big fella was my helper with weighted squats. All 55# of his skinny little body. He's my little monkey. Ruth and Mac are too light and impatient whereas Gabe is getting too heavy to do more than 10 squats with. David also likes to run and jump up and wrap his legs around me to give me 'monkey hugs'. Love my little monkey.
