Walk-well

He is quickly transitioning from baby to toddler. We celebrated his first birthday on Saturday and he even tried to blow out the candle. Rockwell, or Walkwell as we like to call him, has been taking wide legged cowboy steps for about 7 weeks now. He also loves to shimmy to the music, give open mouth kisses when we ask for a kiss, hug mimi's blanket, climb the ladder to the top bunk, put foreign objects in his mouth and play outside. He especially loves to spend time on the trampoline when there aren't too many other people. He is a delightful boy who can throw a ball and tries to mimic Zach and I, especially when we call other children or the dog. He even tries to put his hands in his mouth and blow when he hears me whistle. Rocky is fun to have around and we feel so blessed he is part of our family. (follow-up post with his birthday pictures soon.)

Admired

Just sitting with dad while he does his morning scripture study. Alara sleeps lightly so if she hears anything at all in the morning she gets up to see what's going on. Its ok, she is such a wonderful snuggler.

One year of my life

But who can stay mad at those cheeks for long? Technically it won't be a year till next month but if you count being pregnant it has been way longer than a year. Worth it.

Ah, to be three and a HALF!

She's my tiny little shadow. Alara loves to do head stands, snap her fingers, write the letter A (and the other letters she knows, but especially A) and do whatever Ruth is doing. I'm not sure how I could be more lucky.

10 months

He likes to be outside...

Sleeping

Zach and I went out to dinner with Rockwell and some friends and we left strict instructions that Lincoln and Alana were to be read to while we were away. Apparently Ruth did a marvelous job reading to  because they both fell asleep during book time. It is sweet to come home and see this.

9 Months Rocky

My sweet baby has gone from Rock-well to Rock-poorly, sad!!! Just two weeks ago he would take a pacifier and drift off in my arms but now he wants nothing to do with the pacifier and we are both at a loss as to how to put him to sleep besides just crying it out. I think it mostly has to do with getting a new set of teeth on the top and sore gums. Other than going to sleep time, he is still a delight. When he claps we clap and it is a giddy applauding of one another. He crawls up and down stairs, stands for a second on his own, waves and generally likes to investigate. Isn't he adorable though? His skin rash has really cleared up with some treatment so he doesn't itch so badly. He is officially a right handed child, loves honey-nut Cheerios,  and has blue eyes like Zach. (Only my first boy and first girl are left handed). He's my teddy bear.
