Fiesta!

Happy Mexican day! (no, we did not do this on cinco de Mayo) I volunteered at Ruth's party and was in charge of the "God's Eye" craft station where they wound yarn around popsicle sticks. Not too tricky once I got the hang of it. Ruth is a delight and an angel. She is the leader of the small people in our home and only huffs and puffs occasionally. 

Two graduation robes

Sunshine is headed to kindergarten in the fall and is going to do a great job! Thanks to two years with his wonderful preschool whisperer, Ms. Kelly, and some learning at home he is already well on his way to becoming a proficient reader. Lincoln is also gearing up for math this summer with a math app called Operation Math which is helping to solidify adding a subtracting. He is a gift and a songbird. He's pretty handy with medium legos and sand too!

Zach dusted off his official academic robes so he could call graduation names for the students in the liberal arts college this past May. His department takes turns dressing up like peacocks to support the kids that have worked so hard for the past four years, this time it was his turn. (no offense dear.) Sounds like it went great. 

In Colorado sometimes you wear snow boots to your graduation in May. 

Rock'n good time

This little critter loves adventure. Rockwell loves the baby sign for shoes and putting them on his feet because that means he is headed outside like the big kids. You would be surprised what a 12 month old can do- climb, walk, crawl, jump, dance, stomp, and dig.  He thinks Zach is better than a grape snow cone but mom is pretty good too if dad isn't around, must be a seventh child bond. Rockwell adores books as long as he gets to be in charge of holding them and turning the pages.  He doesn't like to hold my finger to walk and actually reminds me a lot of my first child as a toddler. The chocolate cherry cake was a hit too!

He is quickly transitioning from baby to toddler. We celebrated his first birthday on Saturday and he even tried to blow out the candle. Rockwell, or Walkwell as we like to call him, has been taking wide legged cowboy steps for about 7 weeks now. He also loves to shimmy to the music, give open mouth kisses when we ask for a kiss, hug mimi's blanket, climb the ladder to the top bunk, put foreign objects in his mouth and play outside. He especially loves to spend time on the trampoline when there aren't too many other people. He is a delightful boy who can throw a ball and tries to mimic Zach and I, especially when we call other children or the dog. He even tries to put his hands in his mouth and blow when he hears me whistle. Rocky is fun to have around and we feel so blessed he is part of our family. Admired

Just sitting with dad while he does his morning scripture study. Alara sleeps lightly so if she hears anything at all in the morning she gets up to see what's going on. Its ok, she is such a wonderful snuggler.

One year of my life

But who can stay mad at those cheeks for long? Technically it won't be a year till next month but if you count being pregnant it has been way longer than a year. Worth it.
