Little Climber

Someone likes to climb. And that someone happens to be just cute enough to laugh at instead of punish. He will climb on anything he can get up on: the couches, the rocking chair, the table, etc. He is even attempting the ladder to the fort outside but Zach informed me that he took a big tumble into the sand today and wasn't too happy about it. These are the happy/proud photos of him getting up. Mommy didn't take any pictures of the sad/disgruntled Lincoln that had to then get OFF the table before he fell.

New Fireplace Bookcases

Master builder Zach decided to utilize the space on either side of our fireplace for some extra bookshelves, and let's be honest, we always need more bookcases in this house. Didn't they turn out lovely?

Wall Sits

Since September we have implemented alternate non-spanking disciplinary measures for the boys, including wall sits. (David has actually asked me if we can go back to spanking, he does not care for wall sits at all.) Ruth, on occasion, will even receive  a wall sit for some unacceptable behavior. Lincoln thinks it is a game though and decided to join in the 'fun'. Oh how I love you small one.

Daddy Daughter Dance

This little belle went to the ball on Friday night with her dashing prince charming. Complete with glitter and fingernail polish she was all fancied up for her night out on the town. Zach took her to a butterfly kisses dance where she gorged on pretzels and giggled while being spun around in the air. Although Zach was a little fatigued at having to carry his partner for an hour he said it was well worth it. Perhaps a tradition in the making.

Sunday Guests

This is our weekly Sunday visitor- Kylan Rice. He was one of Zach's students at BYU and serendipitiously  came out here to CSU to complete a masters in creative writing. It's like having one of Zach's nephews back in town. Basically Kylan is as close to family as you get without actually sharing any blood. The whole family loves him, especially little Mac. Last week he brought a special guest...

Lara. She's great. Perky is the first word I would use to describe her although she is also beautiful and smart. And strong! She and Kylan met in the English department here at CSU because Lara is also pursuing a masters at CSU. We'll keep you posted on the developments. (Mostly I just wanted to take a picture of her with both the bigger boys on her back at one time.)

The Eyes have It

Zach's a new man- well at least his eyes are. A few weeks ago he had lasik performed by our Stake President/eye doctor and now he sees better than I do, 20/15 in 2015! This is the first time he has been without eye wear since elementary school. He was very pleased with the whole procedure and recovery time only took about 24 hours. It wasn't quite the biblical mud on the eyes, but pretty close.
Comforting each other right after the procedure
