One of my favorite things about our new house is that I can look out of my kitchen window and see this. All four of my kidos sitting together on the swing enjoying the shade and eating a snack together. Just enjoying the lazy days of summer.

A little bit of Change
Zach has been under the BYU honor code for the past 3 years NOT to grow facial hair, but now that we are in the land of free spirits (Fort Collins, CO) he's decided to try out something a little different. Actually I am the the one that wanted to see what he would look like with facial hair, I will admit it. I like it too, but I don't think it is a permanent change. I think he will keep the goatee just long enough for his mother to have a heart attack and then shave it off. Just be grateful it's not a tattoo mom! Could be worse.

A romp in the living room
Ruthie decided that hand-and-knees was the best sounding way to get around on our new area rug and the boys soon joined in- romping and barking like dogs. Empty rooms have a fun echo to them. They were enjoying the moment. (The couch now sits around the perimeter of this rug)

Look who's in Nursery!
Look who's 18 months and in nursery! It's Ruthie! Isn't she adorable? She had no problem being dropped off after her hour- long sacrament nap and when I picked her up they said she had been "really good," which they volunteered, I didn't ask. I can see why, nursery has many of her favorite things- coloring, toys, snacks and Jesus.
Some of the other things this little gal likes: to gallop around the house (not to be confused with running, it is a totally different gate), play with and be chased by her brothers, be read to, eat crushed ice which she asks for by name, carry around her stuffed dog and play at the splash pad. If the prancing picture had been in focus I probably would have printed it off and framed it. As it is, I might try again to take that picture. I try to refrain from giving her special treatment just because she is a girl, I don't want her to be spoiled, but she definitely is the family pet and a little ray of sunshine.
"See" is what she is saying when she showed me her colored name tag |

Gushy
This morning I was bending over to call down to Zach in another room and Mac ran smack into my bum. That's just about his level unfortunately, bum level. He patted my back side and said, "Gushy". I had to giggle, that pretty much sums it up being pregnant. Thanks Mac for the friendly reminder.

Our first House!
I won't say it's our first home, home is wherever your family is, but it is officially our first house! How exciting. We closed on July 3 and celebrated Independence Day very independently. Zach and I are already hard at work on various home projects including taking down the popcorn ceiling found in a good portion of the house. It isn't a new home but the previous owners re-did much of the inside. The yard is going to need some help but we're happy to do it. We love it. The moving truck should be here Monday morning so with a little bit of luck we will be off the floor and sleeping in our beds again by Monday night. Hallelujah!

Running Laps
Cute kido story: This past Sunday during the third hour of church it was a combined 5th Sunday meeting in the chapel and I didn't make Ruthie stay in the bench with us. She would take a lap around the front of the chapel, run down the aisle, run across the back and up the other aisle and then back into the pew then finish her lap by saying "hug". She'd get a quick hug from me and start around again. She must have done it 10 times or so during the course of the hour. Zach was sitting 2 rows in front of me and I think all he got was a wave. When I told him I was getting hug requests he felt a little slighted by our almost 1 1/2 year old. This is a memory I will treasure because in a week or so she will go into nursery and I won't get to see her run around in Sunday School any more with her little blond sprout on top of her head bobbing around the class.
